Job Description

Are you fascinated by how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Google’s AI models choose what – and who – to reference? At Expleo, we are looking for a Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) / AI Search Specialist to sit at the cutting edge of AI search, LLM visibility, and entity optimisation.This is not a traditional SEO role. You will define how Expleo shows up inside AI-generated answers – designing the strategies, signals and structures that help large language models recognise, retrieve, and cite our brand and experts across the AI ecosystem.

If you’re equal parts strategist, analyst, technologist, and educator, this is a rare chance to build a new discipline inside a global consulting and technology brand.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll turn Expleo into a “go-to entity” that AI models recognise and trust. You will:

  • GEO Strategy & Implementation
    • Conduct comprehensive AI Search & GEO audits across key platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Google AI) to assess citation likelihood, visibility gaps, and brand representation.
    • Diagnose why existing pages are not being cited and define action plans across content, structure, and authority signals.
    • Optimise website content and key landing pages using GEO principles: citations, external references, quotations, readability, recency, quality, and clear sourcing.
    • Implement, validate, and troubleshoot structured data / schema markup (JSON-LD) to strengthen entity recognition for Expleo, its services, authors, and thought leadership.
    • Develop GEO-aligned internal linking and semantic site architecture, ensuring AI systems can easily map topics, entities, and relationships.
    • Build, edit, and optimise pages in WordPress / Elementor (or similar CMS) to ensure they are technically and semantically aligned to LLM and AI search behaviour.
  • Analytics, Monitoring & Reporting
    • Design frameworks and KPIs to measure GEO performance across AI platforms (e.g., frequency and prominence of AI citations, answer share, sentiment, and positioning).
    • Monitor AI-generated outputs (via prompts, experiments, and tools) for brand mentions, citations, answer placement, and competitive comparisons.
    • Track changes in visibility, authority signals, link/mention profiles, and third party citation frequency over time.
    • Build dashboards and reports (e.g., in GA4, Looker Studio, Power BI, Excel) that clearly show GEO impact, trends and ROI to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Analyse competitor AI visibility and citation patterns to identify whitespace opportunities and benchmark performance.
  • Third-Party Authority & LLM Placement Strategy
    • Strengthen external credibility signals that LLMs and AI search use to validate and prioritise sources.
    • Partner with PR, content and corporate communications teams to maximise high-authority third party coverage (e.g., media mentions, bylines, expert quotes).
    • Develop strategies to increase Expleo’s presence across trusted review, discussion and discovery platforms (e.g., G2, Reddit, industry forums, directories, and authoritative publications).
    • Ensure consistent brand entity representation (name, descriptors, services, key people) across external platforms and profiles.
    • Improve structured entity signals that connect the Expleo website, organisation, authors, case studies and trusted third-party references.
  • Internal Enablement & Training
    • Act as Expleo’s internal subject matter expert on GEO, AI Search, and LLM visibility.
    • Create playbooks, guidelines and checklists for AI optimised content production, including sourcing standards and authority-building best practices.
    • Deliver training and enablement sessions for content, PR, marketing, and subject matter experts on how to increase AI citation likelihood.
    • Provide ongoing advisory support to cross functional teams on content strategy, entity modelling, and evidence based storytelling that resonates with both humans and AI systems.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Equivalent practical experience in SEO, digital strategy, AI search, or analytics is highly valued and can substitute for a formal degree.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus but not mandatory, for example:
    • SEO or digital marketing certifications.
    • Analytics certifications (e.g., Google Analytics).
    • AI, data or machine learning–related courses or micro credentials.

Essential skills

  • Strong understanding of how AI search engines and large language models (LLMs) retrieve, cross reference, rank and cite information.
  • Advanced experience in SEO, semantic SEO, or entity optimisation, ideally in a complex or B2B environment.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and validating structured data (JSON-LD) for organisations, articles, products/services, FAQs, etc.
  • Solid understanding of on page optimisation, information architecture, internal linking, and content quality frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and data storytelling skills, with experience building measurement frameworks and performance reports (e.g., using GA4, Looker Studio, Power BI, Excel, or similar).
  • Ability to translate complex AI and GEO concepts into clear, practical guidance for non technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable running experiments with LLMs/AI platforms, testing prompts, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative outputs.

Desired skills

  • Experience working with AI-generated content platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, Writesonic, or similar) in a professional setting.
  • Background in digital marketing, research writing, journalism, technical communication, or content strategy.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS basics for troubleshooting and fine tuning on-page structure.
  • Experience with SEO and content tools, such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Surfer, Rank Math, Screaming Frog, or Google Search Console.
  • Familiarity with entity based SEO, knowledge graphs, or semantic search (e.g., using schema, topic clustering, or graph based analysis).
  • Exposure to prompt engineering or using LLMs for research, content outlines, or qualitative analysis.
  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress (Elementor or similar page builders) to manage and optimise content.
