Job Description

Provides comprehensive HR counsel and support to Supervisors, Managers, and hourly Team Members, with a strong focus on fostering positive employee relations. Plays a pivotal role in executing human resources activities, including reporting, communication, analysis, placement, and training for assigned client group(s). Responsibilities will include leading and facilitating various HR functions within the venue, such as recruitment, hiring, onboarding talent development, employee relations, performance reviews, compliance training, TSAT, payroll, and Team Member services. Serves as the primary HR representative, ensuring a visible and approachable presence for Team Members at Universal Horror Unleashed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consults with managers and supervisors regarding Team Member discipline and performance issues. Investigates workplace situations, including claims of harassment, discrimination, and policy violations. Supports decision making related to terminations and other forms of discipline. Ensures that corrective Team Member coaching and counseling are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Manages employment process for client groups which includes interviewing, identifying internal and external candidates and completing hiring process for internal candidates.
  • Supports the process involved in reviewing Performance Reviews, Team Member Counseling, and Performance plans. Ensures that any written communication directed to Team Members is legal, fair, consistent, in line with Universal Destinations & Experiences values, and follows the progressive discipline policy. Provides input and drives dialogue regarding Team Member Reasonable Accommodation requests/decisions.
  • Completes actions in SAP to support position, pay and organizational change. Supporting Position Mgmt., and Workflow forms. Ensures employment requisitions, employee performance evaluations, employee counseling, and/or area related forms are properly completed, distributed, and/or filed.
  • Provides support to Team Members by interacting and communicating with guests and Team Members in the venue visiting break rooms to promote positive relations.
  • Supports and facilitates various Talent Development curriculum including but not limited to new hire orientation, IP training, respect in the workplace and train the trainer. Enters in various curriculum into Success Factors to accurately track course completion for UHU Team Members.
  • Manages & monitors annual HR processes and special project initiatives and follows-up as needed. This includes but is not limited to: Wardrobe Home Care program, Open Door Plus Appeals, ID processing, nametags and TSAT. Position Management reviews, work authorization expiration notifications, No Pay Report follow-up, Average Hours report, job descriptions, talent review and DEI initiatives.
  • Provides advice and consultation for Team Members regarding benefits, payroll questions, policy interpretations, and EAP issues. Provides direction for internal transfer and career path direction including on-boarding plans, Intern programs, on demand development opportunities, and related follow-up paperwork
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years Human Resources experience in a large-scale fast paced HR environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of employee relations, HR operations, staffing and talent development required.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Solid organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to flex & adapt in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality HR services.
  • Ability to objectively coach Supervisors/Managers and Team Members through difficult and emotional issues.
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data and information.
  • Independent, self-starter, requiring minimal day-to-day task supervision.
  • Professional, confident demeanor.
  • Base knowledge of company policies & practice.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, experience with an HRIS (i.e., SAP) preferred.
