Jefferson County Stone - Rogers Group Inc - Louisville, KY

Full-Time

Day Shift: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Wages starting at $23.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train.

Jefferson County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking a surface General Utility person for our operation located in Louisville, KY We offer a competitive pay with health, dental, vision, 401K, short term disability, long term disability and life insurance benefits. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

• Work in a dynamic environment that requires both technical skills and dedication to safety protocols.
• General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations.
• Operating a dredge to extract sand from an existing pit.
• Being trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences and increased production demand times
• Operate equipment, including but not limited to: skid steer and loader. Experience is preferred.
• Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
• Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines
• Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable
• Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions
• Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
• Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned
• Ability to learn quickly
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be willing to work weekends and overtime
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen
