Job Description

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Performs skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and installation of various building systems and equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs repair tasks on related to the building shell and all systems integrated in that shell.
  • Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. Maintains systems as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Responds to work orders and service requests in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and recommending appropriate solutions. Collaborates with other stakeholders and outside vendors.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and other relevant information. Maintains stock, inventory, and orders materials.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established procedures for hazardous materials handling and disposal.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.


Licensure Requirement:

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.


Certifications:

  • Certification from a trade program, preferred.
  • Miscellaneous installation or repair certifications from vendors, preferred.


Experience:

Two years of commercial experience, required.
