Company: Owen Electric Company, Inc.

Industry: Mission-Critical / Hyperscale Data Center Electrical Construction

About Owen Electric Company

Owen Electric Company (OEC) is a rapidly growing electrical contractor delivering complex industrial, mission-critical, and hyperscale data center projects across the Southeast. We operate with a field-first culture, disciplined execution, and a deep commitment to Safety, People, and Quality

As hyperscale data center programs scale in size and complexity, consistent field leadership across buildings, phases, and crews becomes critical. OEC is investing in General Superintendents who bring structure, discipline, and repeatability to field execution.

The General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field execution across one or more hyperscale data center projects or multi-building programs. This role provides senior field leadership, standardizes execution practices, and ensures alignment between project management, superintendents, and craft labor.

This is not a single-project superintendent role. The General Superintendent operates at a program level, focusing on execution strategy, workforce planning, safety, quality, and productivity across multiple work fronts.

The position plays a key role in driving predictable, high-quality field execution while developing future field leaders within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Field Execution Leadership

  • Provide oversight and direction to Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents across assigned projects or phases.
  • Ensure field execution aligns with approved schedules, work plans, and installation sequencing.
  • Drive consistency in field practices, expectations, and standards across all crews and work fronts.

Planning & Coordination

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Schedulers, and Project Engineers to develop and execute field plans.
  • Support phase planning, look-ahead schedules, and manpower loading.
  • Identify field constraints early and work with project teams to remove obstacles.

Safety & Quality Leadership

  • Champion OEC safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Support safe work planning, JSAs, LOTO compliance, and high-risk activity oversight.
  • Ensure installations meet OEC quality standards and support right-first-time execution.

Productivity & Performance

  • Monitor field productivity, manpower utilization, and work efficiency.
  • Support implementation of productivity tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve installation methods, sequencing, and crew performance.

Workforce Development

  • Mentor and develop Superintendents, foremen, and emerging field leaders.
  • Support onboarding and training of new field personnel.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and leadership development within the field organization.

Coordination with Project Teams

  • Serve as a key field interface for Project Managers, Project Executives, and leadership.
  • Participate in field coordination meetings, executive walk-throughs, and progress reviews.
  • Provide clear, timely feedback on field conditions, risks, and execution performance.

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of progressive field leadership experience in electrical construction.
  • Experience leading large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple superintendents and large field teams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation sequencing, and construction logistics.
  • Ability to lead through influence, accountability, and clear communication.
  • Strong safety leadership background with a track record of incident prevention.
  • OSHA 30 required; additional certifications preferred.

Why Owen Electric Company

  • Opportunity to lead field execution on some of the most complex hyperscale data center programs in the Southeast.
  • High-impact role with direct influence on safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Strong support from project and executive leadership.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and long-term career growth opportunities.
  • A culture that values disciplined execution, field leadership, and continuous improvement.
