Job Title: General Services Specialist, Project Management and Business Operations Work Arrangement: Onsite Location: Lakeland, FL 33801 Employment Type: Contract Engagement Type: W2 or 1099 (No C2C) Final Interview: In Person Position Summary Dhaka Technologies Limited Company (DTLC) is hiring a General Services Specialist on behalf of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), Central Region, in Lakeland. The specialist supports facilities, warehouse, fleet, inventory, and emergency management operations across the Central Region. This is a highly visible and responsible position: the specialist is often the first and only representative of General Services that staff will see, and must conduct business in a courteous and respectful manner, work independently, and keep the supervisor and team leaders informed of situations and updates. A valid and active Florida driver license, a Level 2 background screening, and a clear motor vehicle record are required. Key Responsibilities Facilities and Warehouse Support Maintain the warehouse in a neat and orderly condition and keep aisles clear. Assist with internal and external moves for the department, including coordination with IT for equipment moves and large moves. Supply employees with furniture and desks as needed, and install whiteboards, corkboards, and pictures in offices and hallways across the region. Dispose of surplus materials and furniture in accordance with CFOP 80-2, and transfer surplus IT equipment to the Wildwood warehouse. Verify that facility systems such as air conditioning and lighting are operating properly so that employees can work comfortably. Conduct site inspections across the region as directed. Inventory, Keys, and Site Access Maintain and account for personal protective equipment and DSNAP inventory and distribution systems. Make keys for employees who request them and maintain a log of key holders. Manage the keycard system for several sites. Order supplies and request purchase orders as early as possible, and never authorize services without a purchase order. Assist the MASC with day-to-day needs and witness the destruction of mail on a weekly basis. Fleet and Emergency Response Maintain the assigned state vehicle and other state vehicles in compliance with CFOP 40-2 Vehicle Management, and submit monthly logs in a timely manner. Maintain emergency response vehicles and trailers. Assist with disaster management to prepare facilities and assets for hurricanes and other events, and support recovery efforts. Safety and Customer Service Move large and heavy items such as filing cabinets and desks using the correct hand dollies, following CFOP 215-4 Safety and Loss Control. Arrive at each site prepared with hand dollies and the necessary tools, and take responsibility for equipment and tools issued. Address all safety issues immediately and confirm that no safety issues remain before leaving a site. Ask anyone trespassing on state property to leave, and call 911 and notify the designated management contacts if they refuse. Introduce yourself professionally at each site, provide a business card, and build a directory of site points of contact. Requirements Required Skills and Experience Valid and active Florida driver license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening and clear a motor vehicle record (MVR) check Ability to speak and understand English 1+ year of experience in supply or warehouse management 6+ months maintaining a fleet of vehicles 6+ months using handcarts and hand dollies to move heavy furniture and office equipment 6+ months of experience with OSHA and safety regulations 6+ months conducting facility site inspections 6+ months of experience with IT equipment Ability to assist with disaster management, preparing facilities and assets for events and recovery efforts Familiarity with Central Florida regions and GPS navigation Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work independently and follow directives from the supervisor and team leaders Excellent communication skills and the ability to conduct business in a courteous and respectful manner Education High school diploma or equivalent Work Requirements The staff member reports to 200 N. Kentucky Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at their own expense. May occasionally drive a state vehicle to other DCF sites in the Central Region (Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties) during emergencies. Travel from the Lakeland location is in a state vehicle, which covers gas, tolls, and maintenance. May occasionally require overnight travel in the Suncoast Region during emergencies, which is usually related to emergency management activities. Hotel accommodation is provided, along with meals or reimbursement. This contract is open to W2 or 1099 candidates only. Corp-to-Corp (C2C) candidates will not be considered.
