General Service Technician / Lube Technician

  • Monday-Friday 7:00-6:00 | Weekends Off
  • $15.00 - $18.00 per hour + training and advancement opportunities

We are committed to creating an amazing work culture and giving each employee a path to grow personally and professionally.Job Description:A Clutch General Service Technician is a self-motivated and disciplined individual. Their key objectives are to perform routine maintenance services in an efficient and effective manner, as well as perform full and accurate digital vehicle inspections. They are approachable with the service team and fellow technicians and foster a cooperative team environment. They play a key role in maintaining a clean and organized shop and assist the team where needed. The technician must perform their primary responsibilities according to the Clutch Workflow, which will be reviewed further during the onboarding process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform multi-point inspections using a digitial platform (Tekmetric)
  • Perform state inspections (must be state inspector certified)
  • Perform oil changes and routine maintenance services on all makes and models
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the shop and shop supplies
  • Assist the service team and other technicians as needed
  • Take pride in the work performed while maintaining a culture of respect, hard work and honesty.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with team relationships, shared shop workspace, and personal appearance.

We believe in developing technicians from within. Many of our A-level and diagnostic technicians started in general service roles and grew their careers with us.

You’ll receive training in:

  • Flush services
  • Steering and suspension inspections and repair
  • Brakes and braking systems inspections and repair
  • Basic electrical systems
  • ASE Prep for A4 and A5

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • State Inspector License
  • Own or acquire the necessary tools to perform all required services
  • 2 Years of Experience performing routine automotive maintenance in a shop environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle with passengers.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to view a monitor, and use touch screens, mice, and keyboards.
  • Ability to climb up/down and over/under work platforms and lifts to access vehicles for repair
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform major and fine motor skill movements using body to perform the necessary actions to complete a repair, service, vehicle inspection, or shop cleaning activity.
  • Ability to reach overhead, push, pull, bend over/down, stoop, and other major body movements frequently
  • This job operates in an environment with extensive exposure to an automotive repair shop environment. The job will have exposure to a moderate noise level, adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers & scanners.
  • Ability to work flexible hours/days including evenings and if shops are open, weekends; additional time may be required depending on business needs.
