The opportunity:

As a General Project Management Senior Professional at Hitachi, Ltd., you will be responsible for leading and overseeing complex projects from initiation to closure, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. You will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and fostering collaboration across diverse teams.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will lead and manage the full project lifecycle for assigned projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure, adhering to Hitachi's project management methodologies and best practices.

  • You will define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and successful criteria in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals, develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, risk assessments, and communication strategies.

  • You will proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans and escalating as necessary, manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial objectives are met.

  • You will lead, motivate, and manage cross-functional project teams, foster a collaborative and high-performance environment, communicate project status, progress, and challenges regularly to all stakeholders, including senior management, through various reporting mechanisms.

  • You will facilitate effective decision-making processes and resolve conflicts among project team members and stakeholders, manage vendor relationships and external resources as required, ensuring their deliverables meet project requirements.

  • You will conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future projects, contribute to the continuous improvement of Hitachi's project management processes and tools.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Master's degree preferred.

  • More than 5years of progressive experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.

  • Experience working in a global organization and collaborating with diverse teams across different time zones is highly desirable. PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is required.

  • Strong understanding of various project management methodologies demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Good understanding of delivering substation and transformers projects, contracts and change management in substation delivery projects. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage ambiguity effectively.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
