Responsibilities

General Project Laborer

Position Summary/ Primary Purpose

Main responsibilities will be to be responsible for maintaining the warehouse, managing inventory, coordinating logistics of shipment and reception of conveyor equipment and performing various minor mechanical assembly tasks onsite and at the warehouse to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. Additional responsibilities may include delivery of equipment to our project sites, helping with quality assurance verifications and reporting tasks, verifying heights and angles of installed equipment onsite, reading and understanding mechanical assembly and basic construction drawings, carrying out related duties and tasks for contributing to the success of the department and company.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Warehouse Duties:

  • Coordinate receiving shipments with freight forwarders.
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts.
  • Prepare and package orders for shipment.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Ensure all equipment received is in pristine working conditions.
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Adhere to DNA H&S standards and directives.
  • Able to drive medium-sized trucks to deliver equipment to our project sites.

Construction Mechanic Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs / adjustments on diverse mechanical equipment.
  • Handle basic mechanical, electrical, and assembly tasks.
  • Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment for projects.
  • Respond to requests from engineering / site management in a timely manner.
  • Assist with verifications for installation checklist.
  • Assist with testing, helping to prepare and conduct operational/performance tests.
  • Able to do site surveys to verify measurements against mechanical drawings.
  • Able to read elevation / layout drawings and or mechanical schematics.

Qualifications

Broad Knowledge (Basic)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of construction / industrial mechanics or electromechanics (optional).
  • Experience in warehouse operations and handyman tasks (optional).
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical, electrical, and mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.

Skills & Abilities

  • Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Service Orientation — Actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Certification in forklift operation (optional).
  • Valid ASP construction card (optional).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience

  • Class C licensed construction or Industrial mechanic or electromechanics (optional).
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite.
  • 2 years as warehouse clerk (optional).
  • 2 years working in construction (optional).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, able to drive and operate up to a 20’ foot truck with lift gate.
  • French/English speaker

Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows: Full-time position with occasional overtime. Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods. Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the warehouse to access mechanical / electrical equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.

Demonstrated Physical Abilities

Remain stationery for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. While on job sites, must be able to walk airports and plants and remain standing for most of the shift. Must be able to climb ladders to access our conveyor systems.
