headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation and delivers high quality evidence-based clinical care to achieve better health outcomes for young people aged 12-25 years.

Our multidisciplinary team supports young people by providing support for mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug use, and getting into work and study. headspace offers a number of evidence based mental health and wellbeing treatments that range from low intensity brief interventions through to high intensity long-term interventions.

Working as a headspace GP, you will provide an opportunity for young people to access youth friendly medical services early as part of a collaborative and holistic model of care, ensuring better pathways to health and wellbeing.

You will have the opportunity to provide holistic care across a wide range of physical, mental and sexual health issues, including preventative healthcare, early identification/diagnosis/treatment, and provision of Mental Health Treatment Plans and referral as appropriate.

On Offer:

Based at headspace Hurstville and with hours to fit your schedule with full flexibility of working hours/ days (ideally 1 day per week), with access to professional training and skills development, this opportunity will have you collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team of experienced youth healthcare experts, which may include psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, dietitians, and mental health and/or nurse practitioners.

You will have onsite clinical support as needed including clinical supervision from the Clinical Manager and access to full reception and administrative support at the headspace centre.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with AHPRA Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • A commitment to quality youth focused primary health care services to those accessing the centre(s)
  • Eligibility to provide services under Medicare and be willing to Bulk Bill
  • Level 1 in Mental Health Skills Training
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
