Salary: $238,000 p.a. (pro rata) + Super + Medicare incentives

The Role (Snapshot)

As a GP at DYHS, you’ll collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, culturally appropriate primary care. Your work will include general practice, health promotion, chronic disease management, and contributing to continuous quality improvement.

You’ll also:

  • Lead and mentor clinical staff and students
  • Help shape clinical policy, systems & accreditation
  • Ensure proper Medicare claiming and use of digital health tools
  • Build relationships with allied health specialists for coordinated care

Who You Are

  • Registered General Practitioner (AHPRA)
  • Current provider & prescriber numbers
  • FRACGP / FACRRM / vocational registration
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical skills
  • Cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal health values

Desirable:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Experience in women’s, children’s or emergency health care; supervisor accreditation; AGPAL understanding.

  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Pre-Employment Health Assessment
  • Flexibility to travel between clinics
  • Commitment to work a minimum of 1 day per week (0.2 FTE).

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
