Written Technical Test
The technical exam is a multiple choice test that evaluates the applicant’s knowledge of the following categories:
• Basic Environmental Processes
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Basic General Safety Rules
• Basic Algebra
• OSHA Regulations: Employee and employer responsibilities
Applicants will be scheduled to take the exam at a designated location. Applicants must score an 85% or higher to proceed to the next evaluation.
Behavioral Based Interview The interview is a behavioral based interview incorporating our Core Competencies. In this process we believe that past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior and more recent behavior is a better predictor of future behavior than older behavior, and that long-standing trends are better predictors of behavior than isolated incidents. We therefore have patterned the questions during the interview to solicit behavior patterns that indicate with high predictability whether the candidate can perform the job as required. This type of interview is different than those that you may have taken in the past.

An employee who is in this entry level position is expected to perform all the basic duties and less skilled operations performed by personnel in the section to which he/she is assigned; under supervision, performs all duties associated with waste and/or chemical handling; performs general housekeeping duties on the site; possesses the ability to learn the required duties for power plant operations, maintenance and shift work; possess the ability to drive vehicles; and possesses the physical coordination necessary to use tools and equipment.
May be required to operate equipment including, but not limited to forklifts, small trucks, and other equipment for which they have been trained.
Helps to manage the proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with all policies and procedures.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Other duties assigned in laborer-type functions.
This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
