If it’s possible, you will find it at Atrium Health Levine Children’s, the largest Children’s health system between Atlanta and Washington, DC. We invite Pediatric Advanced Practice Clinicians to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds, and progressive visionaries together in our Virtual Services Group as part of our Children’s Primary Care Division. 

 We are seeking three Pediatric Advanced Practice Clinicians to join our Virtual Primary Care and Extended Care multisite practice. Clinicians are expected to live in the greater Charlotte, NC, area, one of the fastest growing areas in the country.   

Position Details:  This position is a hybrid position and includes work on both the VPC and EC platforms.

•  Virtual Primary Care (VPC): This practice is staffed by Advanced Practice Clinicians, supported by the physician team. These APPS may also provide in-office visits as coverage for providers outside of the office.  Patients can schedule directly with their provider, preserving the trusted provider-patient relationship found in traditional practices on this virtual platform. Nutrition counseling, Parent education, Virtual house calls, Chronic disease management, and Behavioral health consultation are services offered by the virtual primary care practice. In person care is provided through Extended Care Clinic offering full primary care services in the evenings and during weekends.
• Extended Care (EC): In the evenings and on weekends, APPs will transition to providing shared IN-PERSON after-hours care 7 days a week. The team will therefore be able to have a mix of both virtual/remote and direct patient care. The Extended Care location will be open from 5-8pm M-F and 9a-5p on Sat and Sun.

• Requirements:
• At least 3 years of experience in pediatric primary care
• Patients seen in person at the Shelby, NC location
• Our virtual primary care providers will care for patients in NC, SC and GA  

The APP provides a mix of virtual/remote and in-person care, allowing that clinician to maintain physical exam skills, develop new virtual skills, and enjoy the direct interaction with children and families. This structure offers a unique work-life harmony that is unavailable in traditional offices and virtual only practices.

Pay Range:

$47.50 - $71.25

Essential Functions

• Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
• Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care.
• Performs minor office-based medical and/or surgical procedures.
• Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.
• Orders and interprets daily laboratory and radiology examinations.
• Determines treatment plan for patient.
• Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record.
• Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.
• Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested.

Physical Requirements

Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations

Education, Experience and Certifications.

Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.

Nurse Practitioner

Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC board certification preferred based population served.
