42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
About the Role
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Void Clearance Operative to join our team, helping to prepare vacant properties for refurbishment and new residents. Working across a range of residential properties, you will be responsible for clearing unwanted items, removing waste, and ensuring properties are empty, safe, and ready for the next stage of works.
This is a varied, physically active role that involves travelling between properties, working independently and as part of a team, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and customer service at all times.
Duties
- Clear vacant houses, flats, and maisonettes of furniture, household items, rubbish, and other unwanted materials.
- Remove waste and dispose of items in line with environmental regulations and company procedures.
- Carry out strip outs of floor coverings, curtains, blinds, and other non-fixed items where required.
- Ensure properties, gardens, sheds, garages, and communal areas are fully cleared and free from debris.
- Load, unload, and transport waste and materials safely using company vehicles.
- Segregate recyclable materials where appropriate and support sustainable disposal practices.
- Complete final checks to ensure properties are ready for refurbishment or reletting.
- Report any property damage, maintenance issues, or health and safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Capture before and after photographs where required.
- Safely use equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Assist with basic property preparation tasks as required.
- Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and storage areas remain clean, organised, and well maintained.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to complete properties within agreed timescales.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, clients, and members of the public.
Key Criteria:
- Previous experience in property clearance, waste removal, labouring, removals, or a similar manual environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Reliable, organised, and able to meet agreed deadlines and timescales.
