Functional Role (Job Description)
Individual will be responsible for a range of critical financial activities, including Asset management, transfer pricing, inter-company transaction management and Budgeting. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, IFRS and the ability to act as a key liaison between our Global Asset Unit team and different stakeholders, including higher leadership. The ideal candidate will be adept at preparing and presenting detailed financial reports, ensuring data integrity, and providing actionable insights to drive strategic business decisions. This position will be crucial in ensuring that all asset-related financial data is accurate, compliant, and clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders.

Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce or relevant field.
Professional Accounting Qualification (CA/CMA or equivalent)

Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Accounting
- Manage the full accounting lifecycle for intangible assets, including capitalization of costs, amortization calculations, and impairment testing.
- Ensure the accurate and timely recording of all intangible asset transactions in accordance with IFRS or GAAP standards.
- Collaborate closely with business development teams to correctly categorize expenses as either operating exp (Opex) or capital exp (Capex).
- Revenue & Inter-Company Management:
- Recognize revenue by charging operating companies (OpCos) for the usage of intangible assets, applying a margin-sharing or cost-plus model.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of transfer pricing policies to ensure all inter-company charges are fair, compliant, and well-documented.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to implement and maintain transfer pricing models.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and analyze asset-related financial reports, schedules, and disclosures for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure all asset accounting activities are in compliance with internal policies, IFRS/GAAP, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Provide comprehensive support for internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Strategic & Cross-Functional Partnership:
- Partner with R&D, legal, and business development teams to provide financial insights on key decisions such as patent filings, licensing agreements, and acquisitions.
- Work closely with tax team to understand and implement tax strategies related to IP, such as the location of IP assets for tax efficiency, while ensuring compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with Global Asset team to understand financial forecasts and budgets for the asset portfolio.
- Monitor performance against budget and provide regular updates.
- Performance Metrics:
- Conduct rigorous financial and operational analysis of assets, including P&L performance, cash flow, and market trends, to identify opportunities for value creation.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the asset portfolio, such as return on assets (ROA), yield, and operational costs. Present these metrics to senior management and other stakeholders.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- Strong attention to details with a high degree of accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Display good planning and organizing abilities.
- Knowledge and prior exposure to international entities, foreign currency and inter-company transactions
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of accounting standards, especially IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 36, IAS 38 etc.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems like SAP and BPC (added advantage).
- Able to deal with different individuals at all levels in the organization.

Required Experience:
- Extensive experience in a comparable role within a global organization
