Job Description

Earn total annual compensation of $75,000-$85,000, including performance-based bonus opportunities, while leading a growing upscale casual restaurant known for its exceptional craft cocktail program, elevated American bistro menu, and loyal neighborhood following.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced restaurant or food and beverage leader ready to take on greater operational responsibility. You'll oversee a team of approximately 20-30 employees while partnering directly with ownership to drive guest satisfaction, strengthen systems, develop future leaders, and support the continued success of a growing operation.

Rather than stepping into a turnaround situation, you'll inherit an experienced team, a loyal customer following, and a business that has quickly built strong momentum. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while continuing to grow as a hospitality leader.

If you enjoy leading from the floor, developing people, and creating exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment, we'd like to speak with you.

About the Role

As General Manager, you'll oversee the daily operation of a growing upscale casual restaurant with a beverage program that plays an important role in the guest experience.

You'll lead the front-of-house team while partnering with culinary leadership to ensure consistent execution, strong financial performance, and memorable hospitality. Success in this role comes from building engaged teams, maintaining high operating standards, coaching managers and hourly employees, and being an active presence on the floor during service.

This position offers the opportunity to build on your restaurant leadership experience while assuming broader operational responsibilities in a successful, growing business.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Lead confidently during busy service periods
  • Build a culture centered on hospitality and accountability
  • Develop supervisors, managers, and future leaders
  • Coach and motivate front-of-house teams
  • Balance guest experience with operational performance

  • Communicate effectively across departments
  • Make sound decisions under pressure
  • Hold teams accountable while maintaining a positive work environment
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences every day

  • Are ready for greater operational responsibility
  • Have experience in high-volume upscale casual restaurants
  • Understand both restaurant and bar operations
  • Have worked with strong beverage programs
  • Enjoy developing managers and hourly team members
  • Are comfortable managing labor, scheduling, and financial performance
  • Thrive in guest-focused environments
  • Prefer independent hospitality businesses over large corporate organizations

Responsibilities

Lead daily restaurant operations

  • Drive guest satisfaction and operational excellence
  • Support beverage sales and overall restaurant profitability
  • Hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop team members
  • Build leadership capability within the management team
  • Manage scheduling, labor, payroll, and staffing levels
  • Review sales performance and operating results
  • Monitor labor, food, beverage, and liquor costs
  • Oversee inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and beverage ordering
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and maintain clear communication
  • Partner closely with culinary leadership on daily execution
  • Oversee POS systems, reservations, private events, and special programming
  • Resolve guest concerns and lead service recovery
  • Maintain food safety, liquor law, and operational compliance
  • Help strengthen systems that improve consistency and performance

About the Restaurant

This independently owned upscale casual restaurant has quickly earned a loyal following by combining genuine hospitality, elevated American bistro cuisine, and one of the area's most respected craft cocktail programs.

Guests visit for after-work drinks, date nights, dinner with friends, celebrations, and neighborhood gatherings. The restaurant's welcoming atmosphere, quality food, exceptional beverage program, and consistent service have helped it build strong momentum and a loyal customer base.

Ownership remains actively engaged and committed to supporting both the guest experience and the team. Rather than rebuilding an operation, you'll join a business with a strong foundation and the opportunity to help shape its next stage of growth.
