About the role

  • Embed effective governance, transparency, and compliance across all Tribe activities

Enable through data, technology, and performance

  • Lead the development and optimisation of technology services and platforms within the Tribe
  • Partner closely with Technology and Data & Analytics to deliver scalable, resilient, and customer-focused solutions driven by compliance requirements
  • Use data and insights to inform decision making, improve flow, and uplift delivery performance

Lead the Tribe and business performance

  • Own financial performance, including budget, funding, and commercial outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery performance, leveraging PACE practices to enhance flow, quality, and velocity
  • Provide clear reporting and visibility of performance through robust governance forums

Build leadership, culture, and capability

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing, inclusive Tribe, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Invest in talent development across the Tribe and broader PACE community

About you

You're a seasoned enterprise leader who thrives in complexity and brings a strong track record of delivering customer, commercial, and risk outcomes at scale.

You will bring:

  • Deep experience in lending product (Home/Personal or Business)
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to make strategic trade-offs that deliver value
  • Proven senior leadership experience across large teams in financial services or similarly complex, regulated environments
  • Deep experience leading large, cross-functional product teams and transformation programs
  • A strong understanding of risk, compliance, and governance frameworks
  • A data-led mindset, using insights to influence decisions and improve performance
  • Exceptional stakeholder leadership, with experience engaging at Executive level
  • A passion for developing leaders and building high-performing teams

What we offer

At ASB, you'll have the opportunity to lead meaningful work that makes a difference for our customers and communities.

  • Impactful leadership: Shape the future of lending and protection experiences for our customers
  • Career opportunity: Join a high-performing leadership team with strong development pathways
  • Supportive culture: Be part of an environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, and growth
  • Great benefits: Including Southern Cross Health Insurance, “You Do You” leave, wellbeing allowance, AIA Vitality, and staff banking benefits

This role is based in Auckland, New Zealand, and would require relocation for candidates not currently based there; it is offered as a permanent position within ASB rather than as a secondment or temporary assignment.
