General Manager In Training – Slim Chickens

Location: Arizona | Type: Full-Time | Shifts: Day / Evening (10 hour shifts)

Your Role — What You’ll Own:

Champion the Guest Experience

  • Lead your team to deliver outstanding service consistently, even during peak rushes and unexpected challenges.
  • Handle guest concerns swiftly and thoughtfully, turning tough moments into lasting loyalty.
  • Maintain rigorous standards for food quality, cleanliness, and guest-ready presentation — every minute counts.

Lead a Winning Team

  • Build and sustain a high-energy culture where every team member feels supported and driven to excel.
  • Deliver direct, actionable coaching that improves performance and fosters growth — no excuses, just results.
  • Manage stressful, high-stakes situations calmly, keeping your team focused and motivated.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Expertly manage labor, food costs, and inventory while balancing speed and quality goals.
  • Use data and keen observation to identify problems before they escalate and implement smart solutions quickly.
  • Ensure the restaurant operates smoothly and safely, even under pressure, setting the standard for excellence.



What You Bring:

  • 2–4 years of proven leadership experience managing teams of 35+ people, with a track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • A relentless commitment to guest satisfaction and team development, even when the going gets tough.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills to lead confidently in any situation.
  • Flexibility and grit to manage changing schedules, demanding shifts, and operational challenges head-on.
  • Strong analytical skills to turn data into effective, guest-focused strategies.

Compensation: $65,000.00 per year

Our roots run deep in the Delta where the food is honest, meals are social, and the door is always open. We started with a mission to bring a dose of that southern hospitality to a fast, casual setting—serving Fresh Delicious Chicken® to the communities we serve.

Our startup story is pretty simple. It all started with a craving for a quick, quality meal— fresh chicken cooked to order. The founders, Greg Smart and Tom Gordon, discovered there was a niche to fill and rallied where lots of great startups begin, from their garage! Tireless testing and a laser-focused vision launched the first Slim Chickens restaurant in Fayetteville, Arkansas, 2003. Now over 15 years and tens of thousands of happy customers later, we know that there’s something special about our hand-breaded chicken tenders, fresh hot chicken sandwiches, made-to-order wings and our house-made dipping sauces that keep our loyal fans coming back…over and over again.
