Job Description

As a Hostel General Manager, you will strategically and creatively ensure the best possible experience for guests and team members. You will serve as an ambassador of the brand, embodying the company's core values, and leading with passion to empower team members across all departments to optimize performance.

Your duties will include overseeing the management of hostel facilities, maintaining high standards of housekeeping, and effectively managing maintenance projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for growing accommodation bookings, optimizing occupancy, preparing financial projections, and monitoring and reporting on sales performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the establishment
  • Setting and implementing strategic goals and objectives
  • Managing financial aspects such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Ensuring high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising staff members
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners
  • Implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Monitoring and analyzing industry trends and competition
  • Handling customer complaints and resolving issues effectively
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience in hotel or hostel management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Previous pre-opening experience
  • Preferably with experience of working with brand, partnerships and sponsorships would be a mad advantage
  • Proficiency in financial management and budgeting
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Familiarity with HR procedures and disciplinary protocols
  • Strong leadership and motivational abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address root causes
  • Decision-making skills, especially in personnel selection and HR management
  • Conflict resolution and complaint handling expertise
  • Coaching and mentoring abilities to empower team members
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
