
As General Manager – Parks and Community Facilities, you'll provide strategic direction for a diverse and high-profile portfolio that touches the lives of Aucklanders every day. You'll lead a portfolio spanning parks, community facilities and public and community services, balancing operational performance, customer outcomes and long-term asset investment across Tāmaki Makaurau.
You'll lead the management, maintenance, renewal and development of Auckland's parks, open spaces and community facilities, ensuring they remain safe, accessible and valued by the communities they serve. With responsibility for significant operational and capital programmes, you'll drive performance across a large and complex asset portfolio, balancing customer outcomes, financial stewardship and long-term sustainability. Working across a dynamic public environment, you'll build strong partnerships, navigate a broad stakeholder landscape and ensure services continue to meet the evolving needs of Tāmaki Makaurau.
As a seasoned senior leader, you'll have a track record of leading large, complex service delivery operations and delivering results through people, partnerships and influence. You'll have experience managing significant budgets, assets and programmes, and have demonstrated success driving organisational performance in environments where customer outcomes, operational excellence and financial discipline are equally important.
You'll combine strategic thinking with sound judgement and a practical approach to delivery, and be comfortable operating in a highly visible environment, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and navigating complexity with confidence.
You'll be leading a highly engaged and passionate department and will prioritise maintaining and building high-performing teams, developing capability, fostering collaboration and creating a culture of accountability, trust and inclusion.
