Oz Lotteries exists to give everyday Aussies more chances to dream and win. We're one of Australia's longest-running online lottery retailers, operating since 2005, and we're proudly Aussie-owned and operated. As part of the Jumbo Interactive Group, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: JIN), we've built a strong, loyal player base on a platform they trust, offering both popular commercial lotteries like Powerball and Oz Lotto and charity lotteries, a combination that's always set us apart.
We're still growing, still evolving, and still finding better ways to do things, which means you'll thrive here if you take real ownership of your work, bring order and clear process to how things get done, and adapt well as the business changes.
What Will You Be Doing?
As General Manager (GM) for Oz Lotteries, you'll lead the Oz Lotteries (OZL) business unit with accountability for its day-to-day operation and overall commercial performance. Reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer (COO), you'll lead the full business across customer operations, financial operations, compliance and assurance, and marketing execution, ensuring OZL runs within approved Group operating standards.
This is a role for someone who brings order, clear process, and commercial discipline to a business where the model is well-defined and execution is everything. You'll translate Group direction into clear priorities, lead teams and agency partners, and hold the business to the standards required in a regulated environment with strong partner and Group obligations.
You'll also work closely with Group functions including Lottery Solutions, Insights & Analytics, Finance, People & Culture, Legal, charity lottery clients and partners, The Lottery Corporation operational teams, and external suppliers as required.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
Lead the OZL business unit with full accountability for operational performance, commercial outcomes, and the financial budget and forecasts across revenue and costs.
Translate the Group's direction into clear annual and quarterly priorities and operating plans, with defined owners, business targets, and regular progress reporting across the OZL business.
Set service standards, match operational capacity to demand, and maintain workflow discipline so teams can deliver reliably.
Identify opportunities to grow the customer base and increase customer value within approved regulatory, partner, and responsible gambling obligations.
Lead the content, database marketing/lifecycle, and customer operations teams, holding them accountable for output quality and commercial contribution.
Lead marketing technology execution by ensuring teams have the technical capability and clear direction to execute well.
Oversee compliance, operational risk, fraud, and incident management frameworks, ensuring effective controls and audit-ready evidence of adherence to legal, partner, Group, and business unit requirements.
Act as the senior internal authority on what OZL can and cannot do within its regulated, contracted, and policy boundaries.
Set and track KPIs across acquisition, retention, operational quality, and compliance, and report business performance to the Group with clear analysis and recommendations.
Monitor cost efficiency across operations and marketing spend, and establish the analysis support and financial reporting required under Group finance standards and protocols.
Lead, develop, and retain the OZL team, building leadership capability beneath the GM level and maintaining team engagement through change.
What You’ll Be Able to Bring to the Role
Significant senior leadership experience in a regulated or contractually constrained business, including accountability for business unit performance, people leadership, and commercial outcomes.
Experience running a direct-to-consumer digital business, or a comparable business unit.
Familiarity with the not-for-profit or lottery sectors would be useful, as would experience in e-commerce, online marketing, or digital business operations.
Demonstrated ability to manage in a complex compliance environment.
Sufficient marketing literacy to directly manage content, lifecycle, and paid media agency relationships with or without a marketing leadership layer.
Commercially grounded, with an understanding of how acquisition and retention drive long-term revenue in a reseller model.
Highly organised and direct in communication, with a strong bias toward documented, repeatable process and the ability to hold teams and vendors accountable.
Proven people leadership experience, including direct management of team leaders or function managers and accountability for their performance and development.
