General Manager Operations | Executive Leadership Team
Reid Stockfeeds
At Reid Stockfeeds, we're looking for a General Manager Operations who understands
that if you get the people, systems and culture right, the numbers tend to follow.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk studying spreadsheets.
This is a role for a growth leader who enjoys walking the site, visiting regional
locations, coaching leaders, solving root causes, building systems and creating
a culture where people genuinely want to perform.
If that sounds like your kind of challenge, keep reading.
About Reid Stockfeeds
Reid Stockfeeds is a proudly family-owned Australian business that has been serving
livestock producers across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales for
more than 40 years.
We manufacture quality stockfeed that helps farmers feed the animals that feed the
world.
Today, Reid operates multiple manufacturing sites, employs more than 100 people and
continues to invest in its people, systems and facilities.
We're large enough to make a meaningful impact, yet small enough that one exceptional
leader can genuinely shape the future of the business.
Our values guide everything we do:
Growth. Reputation. Openness. Wellbeing.
Why This Role Matters
This is one of the most influential leadership positions within Reid Stockfeeds.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you'll help shape company strategy
while leading approximately half of our workforce across multiple manufacturing
locations.
You'll influence:
•More than 100 employees.
•Multiple manufacturing sites.
•The safety culture of our business.
•Product quality and consistency.
•Leadership capability across operations.
•Continuous improvement.
•The systems and disciplines that support future growth.
•Most importantly, you'll help create the environment where our people can perform at
their best.
What You'll Be Responsible For
1. Safety
Nothing is more important.
You'll create a culture where safety isn't a surface treatment but a standard visible
in every decision, conversation and behaviour.
You'll build leadership capability around critical risk management and ensure every
employee goes home safely each day.
2. Leadership, Management & Accountability
You'll develop leaders, build capability and create accountability across the
operations team.
You'll lead through clarity, coaching and consistency.
You'll have the difficult conversations as and when they’re needed and invest heavily
in helping people grow into their potential.
3. Quality & Cleanliness
You'll champion our Quality Loop and create manufacturing environments that reflect
the pride we take in our products.
You'll drive consistency, visual management, housekeeping standards and Lean
Manufacturing principles that eliminate waste and improve performance.
4. Process Compliance
You'll build operational discipline through systems, training and standardisation.
You'll ensure procedures are understood, followed and continuously improved across
every site.
You'll help create a business where success is built on process.
5. Operational Efficiency
Once safety, leadership, quality and process are operating effectively, you'll drive
operational efficiency.
You'll improve reliability, productivity, DIFOT, inventory accuracy, maintenance
effectiveness and cost performance while never compromising safety or quality.
What Success Looks Like
After 90 Days
•You've built strong relationships across all sites.
•You understand the strengths, opportunities and risks within operations.
•Leaders know what you expect.
•Employees know you're interested in people before numbers.
•A clear operational improvement roadmap is established.
After 12 Months
•Safety performance has improved.
•Leadership accountability is stronger.
•Housekeeping and quality standards are visibly higher.
•Customer complaints are reducing.
•Operational metrics are understood and actively managed.
•Leaders are solving problems rather than escalating them.
After 3 Years
•Reid Stockfeeds is recognised as a benchmark manufacturing operation in our
industry.
•Strong succession pipelines exist across operations.
•Operational systems are scalable and disciplined.
•Safety, quality and culture are deeply embedded.
•The business is positioned for sustainable long-term growth.
What We're Looking For
We're less interested in titles and more interested in impact.
The ideal candidate will bring:
•Senior manufacturing leadership experience.
•Multi-site operational leadership capability.
•Strong safety leadership credentials.
•Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise.
•A track record of developing leaders.
•Commercial awareness and sound judgement.
•The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who:
•Builds trust quickly.
•Leads by example.
•Stays calm under pressure.
•Creates accountability without creating fear.
•Solves root causes instead of symptoms.
•Holds high standards while genuinely caring about people.
Why Join Reid Stockfeeds?
Family-Owned
We think in decades, not quarters.
Strong Reputation
We've spent more than 40 years earning the trust of our customers and communities.
Long-Term Thinking
We're committed to investing in our people, systems and facilities for the future.
Shape the Future
You'll have a genuine seat at the table and influence the direction of the business.
Leave a Legacy
The systems, leaders and culture you build here will outlast any production target
or budget result.
A Final Thought
There are plenty of operational roles that ask you to manage production. This isn't one of them.
We're looking for someone who wants to build leaders, strengthen culture, create
safer workplaces, improve quality and leave the business better than they found
it. If you're the type of leader who believes operational excellence starts with
people and ends with results, we'd love to hear from you.
