Position Title: G.M. of Production

Reporting to: President of Manufacturing

Department: Production

The G.M. of Production, sometimes called a Plant Manager, oversees all aspects of a manufacturing facility, leading teams, optimizing production processes, ensuring quality and driving efficiency to achieve financial objectives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership and Management

  • Lead and motivate a team of production employees, including managers and supervisors

  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the production department

  • Implement and maintain a culture of continuous improvement

  • Production Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of the production process, from raw materials to finished goods

  • Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations

  • Manage production schedules and ensure timely delivery of products

  • Financial Management

  • Develop and manage production budgets

  • Monitor and control production costs

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improvement

  • Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement production plans to meet company goals

  • Identify and address potential production problems

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices

  • Other Duties

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Manage inventory and procurement processes

  • Develop and implement training programs for production employees

  • Provide regular reports on production performance to senior management

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in an ISO 9001 manufacturing facility

  • Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Expertise in production management and quality standards

  • Financial and budgetary management experience

WORK CONDITIONS 

Physical Demands/Work Environment:  

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs.  It also occasionally requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.  This list is not meant to cover every possible scenario but simply provide an outline.  Employees may be assigned other tasks as needed.
