General Manager Operations Job Family – Operational LeadershipThis family lead operational delivery for a significant territory within Survitec Regions. They work to translate business strategy into operational delivery plans to maximise the company’s operating and financial performance. They communicate business strategy to their people, ensuring everyone in their area of the organisation has a clear understanding of how their work directly contributes to meeting organisation objectives, mission and values Job Summary This role leads operations to best in class standards for a strategically important group of business units. The role actively manages and deepens relationships with customers and provides an excellent customer experience throughout operational delivery. It focuses on driving operational excellence, controlling cost to serve and creating a continuous improvement culture, to meet current and future customer needs Duties and responsibilities· Develops and implements the operational delivery plan for an important Survitec business area; anticipates issues, challenges and opportunities and develops strategies to overcome, mitigate or capitalise on these, in line with overall Survitec strategy · Identifies and communicates clearly the actions needed to implement Survitec strategy and business plan within the business area; provides colleagues with a clear view of how operational plans support Survitec’s mission, vision and values; motivates people to commit to these actions and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals· Implements and drives standard work and continuous improvement; builds confidence and capability within teams to make sound operational decisions and manage their own work to standard· Sets operational priorities and targets; analyses performance and motivates people to deliver operational excellence; supports business growth by driving efficiency and quality; creates an effective resourcing plan, deploying resource to meet customer need effectively · Sets individual and team performance targets aligned to overall Survitec business goals and holds the team accountable for achieving these. Takes appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure high quality, efficient operational delivery · Sets and approves operational budgets in line with overall business goals and manages costs effectively against this budget· As part of the regional leadership team, participates in the development of regional strategy, applying functional and business expertise to test the viability of plans and proposals; contributes creative ideas and insights to support business improvement and development · Represents Survitec in a variety of industry and professional forums and direct customer communications, promoting the company brand effectively· Provides excellent customer experience throughout operational delivery, taking an active role in managing and deepening the customer relationship· Uses Survitec’s formal development framework to identify team and individual development needs; plans and implements actions to build professional capabilities, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions. Provides informal training or coaching to others throughout Survitec in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfil their personal potential· Identifies and manages stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions· Evaluates the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities; ensures all colleagues within the business area have effective personal development reviews and delivers a succession plan for all key roles; implements Survitec’s formal development frameworks within the area; coaches and mentors others to support the development of the Survitec talent pool· Creates an environment where everyone in the team can live the Survitec Values · Creates an inclusive environment where our people feel valued, appreciated and free to be who they are at work· Understands, upholds and contributes to creating a safety-first culture within Survitec.
