Job Description

Be part of the future of South East Queensland at Seqwater

At Seqwater, we deliver the water that more than three million people across South East Queensland rely on every day. As we bring our new operating model to life, we are creating the capabilities, structures and ways of working that will shape our future—and deliver even greater value for our customers and communities.

This transformation is opening exciting opportunities across Seqwater. These newly created and redesigned roles will help strengthen our capability, embed our future operating model and build a high-performing organisation ready for what comes next.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of one of Australia’s most significant treated water supply networks. As a senior functional leader at Seqwater, you will shape how we plan, operate and continuously improve the network that helps deliver essential water services to communities across South East Queensland.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager Operations & Maintenance, you will lead Supply Contracts Management, Supply Network Operations and Supply Support Services. You will bring strategic direction and operational discipline to a complex, highly regulated 24/7 environment—strengthening network resilience, guiding incident and emergency response, and ensuring retailer, technical, water quality and service commitments are consistently met.

Beyond operational delivery, you will build capability, empower leaders and foster a high-performing culture where safety, accountability and collaboration are at the centre of every decision. If you are an accomplished operational leader who thrives on complexity and wants to make a lasting contribution to Queensland’s future, this role offers the scale, influence and purpose to do exactly that.

What you'll bring

You are an accomplished technical leader who brings:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline
  • Leadership of large operational teams within a water utility or comparable regulated network environment
  • Operation and management of treated water supply networks including pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations and network control systems
  • Management of significant operational incidents, emergency responses and network events in a complex infrastructure environment
  • Strong knowledge of water quality management, DWQG compliance and the provision of specialist water quality analytical services
  • Knowledge and application of HSEQ principles across operational functions

Why join Seqwater?

  • Purpose with impact: Help protect and strengthen essential water services for Queensland communities
  • Influence at scale: Play a leading role in an organisation-wide transformation
  • Flexibility and support: Work in an environment that values wellbeing, inclusion and collaboration
  • Room to grow: Access professional development and meaningful career opportunities
  • Rewarding benefits: Receive competitive remuneration and a strong employee benefits offering
