The Role

As the General Manager, you will take the reins of a high-performing resort with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving business success. Reporting to the Senior Regional Operations Manager, you’ll oversee a talented leadership team, work closely with key stakeholders, and ensure operational excellence across all facets of the resort.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering consistent, high-quality standards across all resort offerings, including food and beverage, accommodations, and guest activities.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of department managers to exceed guest expectations.
  • Driving financial results through effective cost management and strategic decision-making.
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Rottnest Island Authority.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and understands the challenges of remote operations. You’ll be innovative, customer-focused, and have a proven track record of leading successful teams in the hospitality industry.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience as a General Manager in a high-performing resort with both Accommodation and Food and Beverage offerings.
  • A strong history of tenure and career progression in hospitality, demonstrating your ability to make an impact in each role will be favourable.
  • Exceptional financial acumen and a results-driven mindset.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in hospitality management, including Food Safety and RSA certifications.
  • Experience working in remote locations and a deep understanding of their unique challenges.
