Job Role

The General Manager – Thailand is responsible for leading the company's business operations, commercial development, organizational performance, and market expansion in Thailand.

Reporting to the regional or global leadership team and working closely with key corporate functions, this role will oversee the day-to-day management and execution of the Thailand business. The successful candidate will drive business growth, manage operational performance, support regulatory and licensing activities, develop relationships with government agencies and strategic stakeholders, and ensure that the company's business objectives are effectively executed in the Thai market.

The General Manager will serve as a key local leader, connecting the company's regional strategy with Thailand's financial services and digital economy landscape while ensuring sustainable and compliant business growth.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Thailand's business strategy, annual operating plans, and market expansion initiatives in alignment with regional and global objectives.
  • Lead overall business operations and ensure strong performance across commercial, operational, financial, and organizational functions.
  • Drive revenue growth, business development, strategic partnerships, and market expansion opportunities across Thailand.
  • Take ownership of business performance, including revenue growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and key business KPIs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory agencies, financial institutions, strategic partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with regulatory, legal, compliance, and corporate affairs teams regarding licensing, regulatory requirements, and government-related matters.
  • Monitor developments in Thailand's financial services, fintech, digital economy, and regulatory environment and translate them into actionable business strategies.
  • Ensure that business operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Work closely with legal, compliance, risk, finance, technology, and other regional/global functions to ensure effective execution of business objectives.
  • Lead and develop the Thailand management team, fostering a high-performance culture and strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and initiatives that strengthen the company's competitive position in Thailand.
  • Represent the company in business meetings, industry events, government engagements, regulatory discussions, and strategic partnership activities.
  • Provide regular business performance updates, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations to regional and global leadership.
  • Lead organizational development and operational improvement initiatives to support the company's long-term growth in Thailand.
  • Ensure effective risk management across business operations, including regulatory, financial, operational, consumer protection, AML/CTF, data privacy, and reputational risks.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Law, Political Science, Public Policy, or other related disciplines. A Master's Degree is highly preferred.
  • Thai national with extensive professional experience operating within Thailand's financial services, fintech, banking, digital payments, or other regulated industries.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of progressive management and leadership experience, preferably within financial services, fintech, banking, digital payments, financial technology, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Proven experience managing business operations, commercial development, strategic partnerships, or country-level business functions.
  • Strong track record in driving business growth, operational performance, and organizational development.
  • Experience working with government authorities, regulatory agencies, financial institutions, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of Thailand's financial regulatory framework, digital economy landscape, financial services legislation, and electronic transaction regulations.
  • Practical knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), data privacy, consumer protection, risk management, and corporate governance is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting financial licensing, regulatory compliance, or market-entry activities within a regulated industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and translate business strategy into measurable results.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making capabilities.
  • Professional proficiency in English for executive communication, regional/global meetings, presentations, and business collaboration.
  • Mandarin proficiency is highly preferred to facilitate communication and coordination with regional and global headquarters.
