đ General Manager â Bougainville
For over 80 years, MAF has used aviation to serve some of the world's most isolated communities. In Bougainville, you'll help lead a unique programme that combines aviation, technology, and Christian mission to strengthen remote communities and create lasting impact.
This is far more than a management role. As General Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for a growing humanitarian programme while building strong partnerships, developing local leaders, and investing in national team members to support long-term sustainability and succession.
We are seeking an exceptional leader to provide strategic and operational oversight of MAF's aviation and technology-based programme in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. Working at the intersection of aviation, community development, government engagement, and Christian ministry, you will help connect remote communities with healthcare, education, church ministries, development initiatives, and essential services that would otherwise be difficult to access.
In Bougainville, aviation is often far more than transport. It is a lifeline.
Working closely with government leaders, community stakeholders, churches, development partners, and MAF's aviation teams, you will help ensure safe, sustainable, and transformational services that make a tangible difference in people's lives.
From strengthening strategic partnerships and overseeing programme operations to supporting team wellbeing and ensuring sound stewardship of resources, your leadership will help shape the future of MAF's work in Bougainville.
You will provide overall leadership, vision, and direction for MAFâs Bougainville operations, guiding strategy, operations, partnerships, and team development.
Your role will include:
Leading the delivery of MAFâs aviation and technology programme in Bougainville
Ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant aviation operations in partnership with MAF PNGâs AOC leadership
Strengthening relationships with the Autonomous Bougainville Government, churches, NGOs, donors, and community leaders
Overseeing programme impact, financial stewardship, governance, and operational accountability
Developing and mentoring a diverse team while fostering a healthy, values-driven culture

Mission Aviation Fellowship was founded in 1945 by a group of WWII pilots who had a vision for how aviation could be used to help spread the Gospel.
Since those early days, we have been an indispensable partner and servant to some 500 Christian organizations, humanitarian agencies, and more. We enable and maximize evangelism and church nurturing, medical assistance, disaster response, and community development, as well as the training and development of indigenous people.
Using aviation, we desire to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ by serving together to bring help, hope, and healing. We meet the physical and spiritual needs of isolated people in 42 countries throughout Asia, Africa, Eurasia and Latin America, operating a fleet of 47 light aircraft. Dedicated missionary families raise their own ministry support to serve as the hands and feet of Christ to those in need.
