Assistant General Manager (AGM) / General Manager (GM) – Contract Management
(Data Centre Main Contractor)
Position Summary
The AGM / GM, Contract Management is responsible for leading all contractual and commercial matters across data centre construction projects, with a stronger focus on post-contract administration while maintaining oversight of key pre-contract activities. The role ensures effective contract execution, commercial risk management, cost control, claims management, subcontract administration, and compliance with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, commercial teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to protect the company's commercial interests and maximize project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Post-Contract Management (Primary Focus)
Lead contract administration activities for multiple data centre construction projects.
Review, interpret, and manage main contracts, subcontract agreements, and consultancy agreements.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and commercial requirements.
Manage variation orders, change management processes, extension of time (EOT) claims, and contractual correspondence.
Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Lead preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of claims and disputes.
Monitor project commercial performance, including cost control, cash flow, payment certification, and final account settlement.
Provide contractual advice and guidance to project managers and site teams.
Manage subcontractor contractual matters, including payment assessments, claims, and dispute resolution.
Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of contractual records throughout project execution.
Participate in project reviews and commercial reporting to senior management.
Pre-Contract Management
Review tender documents, contract conditions, technical specifications, and commercial requirements.
Support tendering teams in identifying contractual risks and commercial exposures.
Participate in contract negotiations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Provide recommendations on contract terms, risk allocation, and commercial strategies.
Assist in developing tender qualifications and contractual clarifications.
Support bid submissions from a contractual and commercial perspective.
