General Manager – Restoration Operations

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced restoration professional ready to step into a General

Manager role while remaining hands-on in the field when needed. This position is

responsible for leading daily operations, ensuring quality and profitability, developing

employees, and maintaining high standards of restoration work.

The ideal candidate has strong technical restoration knowledge, leadership ability,

sound business judgment, and the willingness to work alongside the team when the

situation requires it. This is a working GM—someone who can lead from the office, the

jobsite, or wherever the business needs them.

Key Responsibilities

 Lead and oversee daily restoration operations, including water, mold, fire, and

reconstruction projects.

 Supervise and support Project Managers, estimators, technicians, and

production teams.

 Step into the field as needed to perform or direct advanced restoration work and

large-loss projects.

 Evaluate losses, develop scopes, establish drying plans, and determine

equipment, labor, and resource requirements.

 Understand moisture mapping, psychrometry, drying science, equipment

calculations, electrical requirements, containment, and building environments.

 Direct multiple crews and projects during high-volume or CAT events.

 Ensure proper documentation, photo logs, moisture records, equipment usage,

and job reporting.

 Maintain high standards for safety, PPE, property protection, customer service,

and workmanship.

 Monitor project schedules, labor, equipment, material usage, job costs, and

profitability.

 Identify operational problems quickly and take ownership of the solution.

 Recruit, train, coach, and hold team members accountable to company

standards.

 Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure projects are completed properly

and profitably.

 Resolve escalated customer issues and maintain strong customer relationships.

 Ensure compliance with company procedures, IICRC standards, safety

requirements, and applicable regulations.

 Use technology, CRM, estimating, documentation, and project-management

systems to improve efficiency and accountability.

 Provide ownership with clear reporting on operations, staffing, project

performance, profitability, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

 3+ years of professional restoration experience; advanced water damage

experience strongly preferred.

 Strong working knowledge of IICRC S500 and S520 standards.

 IICRC ASD certification preferred; additional certifications are a plus.

 Demonstrated knowledge of moisture meters, thermal imaging, psychrometry,

dehumidification, air movement, drying calculations, and moisture

documentation.

 Experience with large-loss, commercial, or complex restoration projects

preferred.

 Ability to read floor plans and blueprints and develop effective drying strategies.

 Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

 Self-driven, detail-oriented, accountable, and capable of working independently.

 Comfortable using technology, mobile devices, estimating software, and project-

management systems.

 Valid driver's license and ability to travel or respond to emergency situations.

 Physically capable of performing restoration work, including lifting 50+ pounds,

working in confined spaces, and extended periods of standing, walking, bending,

kneeling, and climbing.

Compensation

Competitive base salary with an incentive-driven compensation structure tied to

operational performance, profitability, and company objectives. High-performing

candidates have the opportunity to earn $100K+ in Year One.

This is an opportunity for a proven restoration professional to become a

leader—not leave restoration behind.

Compensation: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
