JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

Area General Manager Central China is responsible for overseeing all aspects of management for the Central China (“the Region”) of JAS China.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Formulate, implement, monitor and review business strategies within the Region.
• Communicate with other Directors in National, Regional and Corporate levels in result for coordinating business strategies.
• Hold profit and loss responsibility for all branches in the Region.
• Set up, monitor, review and improve operating procedures and KPIs for all departments.
• Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and improvements.
• Responsible for regular management reports and operational budget.
• Evaluate and implement required business tools for ensuring effective utilization for improving business process.
• Determine organization structure, roles and responsibilities and performance targets of respective functions in accordance with Global guidelines, whenever applicable.
• Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global, Regional and Country objectives and targets.
• Understand the government rules and regulations affecting daily operations, ensuring the Company is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority.
• Deal with general public, customers, unions and government officials.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Branch Managers of Central China (Global Job Title: Branch Manager)
• Conduct performance evaluation for direct reports
• Recommend hiring, firing and promotion
• Identify and resolve personnel issues
• Ongoing coaching and mentoring of staff to develop skills to the highest level

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent organizational (prioritize, plan, assign and control) and time management skills.
• Strong passion for accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, able to work with a team and independently.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance with import and export rules and regulations.
• Strong analysis capability, good presentation and negotiation skill
• Demonstrated personal leadership skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in English and Chinese (written and spoken)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Degree Holder in Business Management, Finance and/or Logistics.
• Minimum 10 years’ general management experience in international logistics/forwarding industry.
• Good knowledge of business and logistics market of Central China.
• Presentable with sound leadership, influential, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

ENVIRONMENT:

• 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to 30%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
