Job Description

Mama Bird Southern Kitchen in West Jordan, Utah is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of restaurant operations. This location provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner service seven days per week, requiring a hands-on leader who can successfully manage multiple dayparts, high-volume operations, staffing, food quality, guest satisfaction, and financial performance. The General Manager is responsible for creating a positive culture, developing team members, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences from open to close.

Compensation:

  • Starting at $70,000+ depending on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily operations for a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days per week
  • Ensures proper staffing, scheduling, and management coverage across all operating hours and meal periods.
  • Ensures the restaurant operates efficiently and effectively within the Company’s fiscal and operational guidelines.
  • Maintains high standards of food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and hospitality throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
  • Monitors sales trends and labor performance by daypart to maximize profitability and guest satisfaction.
  • Responds to guest comments.
  • Manages staff to ensure the restaurant is staffed with highly trained team members who are committed to providing excellent customer service.
  • Orients all new hires to ensure they are knowledgeable of company policies and procedures.
  • Forecasts and generates restaurant annual budget.
  • Analyzes monthly operating statements and operational expenses to maximum profit.
  • Oversees all restaurant administrative requirements including cash handling procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Course work in restaurant management preferred.
  • 5-7 years prior related professional experience in restaurant management required.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong people management skills including managing and coaching managers and hourly employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and guests.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including morning, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current certification in NRA ServSafe food safety program and any additional state mandated food safety programs.
  • Food Handler permit or ability to obtain one before hire date
  • UT DAB’s certification
