Bruno Co-op proudly serves our members with a range of offerings including bulk fuel, agricultural hardware, feed and liquor. What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, responsible for the performance and oversight of the organization. Work with the Board to develop the strategic plan, and establish the strategy, goals, and objectives for the organization in alignment with the mission, vision, and values. The individual will provide operational direction in the development and implementation of programs and policies to generate sustainable value, market returns, and profitability for the organization. The primary responsibilities of this role are, but not limited to, the following:

  • Strategy – Working closely with the Board to interpret our vision and managing the Co-operative’s strategy by directing operations of the business.
  • Financial Stewardship – Leading the development of the Co-op’s operating and capital budgets and ensuring efficient operation and adherence to the budget.
  • Operations - Provide insight to the development and implementation of programs and policies. Drive and manage the growth of sales and performance to improve profitability and overall customer experience including overseeing store pricing, promotions, and products.
  • Leadership – Provide leadership and maintain a positive work environment that promotes the engagement and development of team members to support the achievement of desired results.
  • Relationships – Using excellent communication skills, builds and enhances relationships with members, customers, team members. Participate in the development of products, services, and programs to improve profit, membership growth, and increase the overall customer experience.

The Community: Bruno is a vibrant town just 20 minutes west of Humboldt, and less than an hour from Saskatchewan’s largest city, Saskatoon. It is a family-oriented community with many amenities such as a K-12 school, subsidized daycare, a rink, ball diamonds, and a golf course. Bruno is home to the province’s only annual Cherry Sunday, a local and cherished tradition celebrated with live music, delicious food, kid’s activities, and a variety of artisan vendors.

Who you are:

You are a leader in Retail Store Operations and:

  • Have 3-5 years relevant management experience with 1-3 years leading people within the retail industry. Previous Co-op experience would be considered an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A valid Class 3 Driver’s license would be considered an asset.
  • Have a strong business sense and are organizational savvy, and possess an ability to plan and align resources.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage conflict, ensure accountability, and balance stakeholders.
  • Are self motivated, a quick learner and require minimal supervision; flexible and adapt easily to change.
  • You are honest and trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • Are able to build relationships and collaborate to deliver solutions that matter most.
