The Opportunity:
As the General Manager you will oversee sales, staffing, and operations. You will take ownership over the club’s revenue and expense goals, administer the career development of the staff, and maintain Chelsea Piers Fitness’ standards for excellence in hospitality, cleanliness, and community building.
The GM will also be asked to prepare information and presentations for review by owners and the executive team of Chelsea Piers Fitness and will have direct oversight of: Operations, Hospitality & the Kids Clubhouse teams.  The GM will also work closely with the Sales, Personal Training, Marketing, and Group Fitness teams to ensure that prospects and members always have a great experience.

QualificationsGeneral:
- Work closely with operations department to ensure equipment and materials are in place ahead of opening
- Train, motivate, direct, and evaluate all club managers
- Maximize member retention by ensuring high levels of customer service, variety of innovative events and responsiveness to member feedback
- Monitor day-to-day operations with all managers and hourly staff
- Own the overall performance of club’s P&L
- Ensure equipment and facilities are safe and in compliance with all regulations
- Communicate with both members and internal staff on all member programs and needs
- Establish excellent member satisfaction as the Chelsea Piers Fitness standard within all aspects of the club
- Ensure that Operations, Housekeeping, and Hospitality Managers have properly scheduled staff
- Manage customer service online tools and internal communication tools (i.e. Exerp, Front Desk Log, Zoho, and Prospr
- Respond to Medallia and member inquiries

The Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex is a 28-acre sports village located between 17th & 23rd Streets along Manhattan’s Hudson River. Opened in 1995, Chelsea Piers transformed four historic, long-neglected piers into a major center for public recreation and waterfront access. Annual visitation is approximately 4.1 million.
