Job Description

The General Maintenance Worker supports facility operations by performing routine maintenance, room set-ups, building inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks. This position helps ensure that the building, equipment, and workspaces are maintained in a safe, organized, and functional condition. The role also requires accurate documentation of maintenance activities and the ability to follow established procedures while supporting daily operational needs, including assisting with the pickup, delivery, and organization of maintenance materials and supplies as directed and providing basic support to visiting contractors.
Second Shift: Monday - Friday, 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous general maintenance or facilities experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience in a regulated, healthcare, laboratory, or cleanroom environment preferred
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
• Basic computer proficiency preferred
Work Environment and Physical Activities:
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in varying physical positions as required by job duties.
• Perform assigned maintenance activities in a variety of environments, including indoor spaces (offices, mechanical rooms, laboratories, cleanroom, or controlled environments) and outdoor areas, with exposure to seasonal weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow, as operational needs require.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull tools, equipment, and materials up to and occasionally exceeding 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow cleanroom or facility entry requirements as applicable.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Licenses and other requirements:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet driver insurability standards as established by the organization’s insurer.
• Must be available to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance services as required.
• Must be available to work occasional evenings or weekends, including up to one Saturday night per month, as scheduled.
