Job Description

The General Maintenance Technician works closely with the Maintenance Manager to take care of the Zions Bank Basketball Campus, Utah Mammoth Practice Facility, and other properties. Primary responsibility will be supporting the Maintenance Manager with general facility maintenance and repairs. Wage is $25 per hour.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general maintenance on a scheduled and work order basis.
  • Repair of framing, drywall, wall prep, and painting.
  • Collaborate and work well with the maintenance team.
  • Minimal plumbing, electrical, and mechanical needed.
  • Set up and take down for events.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Protect the reputation of the company.

  • Accept other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screening in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Two years of experience in general maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining a large office building.
  • Aptitude for repairs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specific procedures.
  • High attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow through.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.

About Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz is a professional basketball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. They are currently part of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference in the NBA (National Basketball Association).

Originally located in New Orleans, Louisiana, the franchise began in 1974 as the New Orleans Jazz and the18th professional basketball team to enter the NBA. Despite drawing well, the franchise struggled and was eventually moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1979 after just five years in the league. In 1985, Larry H. Miller became co-owner of the still struggling organization, and then a year later, purchased the remaining portion from Sam Battistone to become the sole owner.

The Jazz has since become one of the more successful teams in the league with frequent post-season playoff appearances, including consecutive appearances from 1984 to 2004, as well as two NBA Finals appearance in 1997 and 1998.
