Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of facility repair and maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in painting, drywall repair, wall patching, floor tile repair, general handyman work, and basic building maintenance. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in occupied commercial environments.

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 6am-2:30pm

Pay: $25 - $28

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Painting & Surface Finishing

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, patching, cleaning, and priming.
  • Apply paint, stain, and coatings to walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
  • Match existing paint colors and finishes when required.
  • Maintain clean and professional work areas during and after painting projects.

Drywall & Wall Repair

  • Repair holes, cracks, dents, and other wall damage.
  • Patch, tape, texture, and finish drywall surfaces.
  • Match existing wall textures and finishes.
  • Replace damaged drywall sections as needed.

Floor Tile Repair

  • Repair and replace damaged floor tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, vinyl, and VCT tile.
  • Remove damaged flooring materials and prepare surfaces for installation.
  • Grout, seal, and finish repaired flooring areas.
  • Ensure repaired areas blend with existing flooring.

General Handyman Services

  • Perform minor carpentry repairs and installations.
  • Repair cabinets, and fixtures.
  • Complete corrective maintenance work orders.

Facility Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections of building conditions.
  • Identify maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in safe working condition.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial or residential maintenance, construction, painting, or handyman services.
  • Experience with drywall repair and painting.
  • Experience performing floor tile repairs and replacements.
  • Ability to operate common hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Experience in commercial facility maintenance.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, flooring, and basic construction techniques.
  • Experience working in occupied office, manufacturing, healthcare, or industrial environments.
  • OSHA 10 certification or equivalent safety training.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to work on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
