Responsible for carrying out general maintenance tasks in support of campus building operations and related services in all University buildings or building complexes.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs in plumbing, electrical, light carpentry, floor tiles, ceiling tile systems, painting, and on related equipment and appliances in accordance with the standards established by the University.
- Performs essential preventive maintenance on air conditioners, water fountains, doors and windows and other general building operational equipment.
- Assists with demolition and renovation work including the construction and repairs of walls and ceilings.
- Responds in a timely manner to emergencies in collaboration with other campus personnel through appropriate use of in-person, email, cell phone and two-way radio responses.
- Communicates with SXU staff and responds to requests, work orders and other related maintenance needs.
- 3-5 years' experience in general maintenance and repair work.
- Valid driver's license and insured personal vehicle and tools to use on the job.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to respond professionally to all campus users and external constituents.
