Exemption Status:

NoPerforms routine equipment room checks and conducts routine preventive maintenance functions. Handles work requests and responds to emergencies on the various mechanical and electrical support systems.

Job Duties:

  • Responds to various repair requests and alarms on the message handling and building automation systems.
  • Makes adjustments or repairs and notifies appropriate tradesperson on call, or consults supervisor as required.
  • Provides first response to all maintenance situations or conditions.
  • Checks air handling equipment, pumps and water systems in equipment rooms and other spaces throughout building complex.
  • Performs routine inspections of electrical, plumbing and air conditioning systems in outpatient and public areas during unoccupied intervals.
  • Performs air filter cleaning and changes, lubricates rotating equipment and completes associated paperwork and files.
  • Completes daily activity summary sheet noting time spent on inspections, preventive maintenance or repairs.
  • Initiates Facilities Operations work orders and verbal handoffs, as appropriate, to assure follow-though on customer and facilities concerns.

Geisinger is seeking a General Maintenance IIIto safeguard the hospital’s core mechanical and electrical systems. You’ll be the first line of response when issues arise, the expert preventing problems before they start, and the decision‑maker who keeps critical systems running without interruption.

Hours for this position are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm + on-call rotation.

Your work keeps patients safe, supports clinical teams, and ensures hospital operations never miss a beat.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years-Skilled labor (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s):

Valid Driver's License - Default Issuing Body
