An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Machine Operator to join our team in Stub Shafts (DSFT), within the Rotatives Supply Chain Unit.

You will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as a machine operator will involve working on our new WFL M80’s producing various shaft components across all our major engine projects, your role will also involve working with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high quality machining across a variety of different components and product families.
  • o Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, including machine probing, micrometers, plug gauges.
  • o Interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
  • o Assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
  • o Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in engineering, Btec Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent
  • The successful candidate must have completed a time served engineering apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience with aerospace components would be preferable
  • Prior experience on WFL M80’s would be preferable, 5 axis milling, drilling, boring and turning or Siemens control experience is mandator
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
  • Looking for candidates who are pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
