General Ledger Accountant
We are currently expanding our Finance team and are looking for four (4) General Ledger Accountants to join us. Our GL department is structured into specialized sub-teams: General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, and Treasury. Your Responsibilities:
Depending on your team placement, your daily focus will include:
Core GL Activities: Prepare and post manual journal entries (accruals, adjustments, reclassifications) in line with strict month-end closing deadlines
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
Financial Controls: Prepare controls for assigned entities and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards (IFRS)
Specialized Accounting: Depending on the team, manage Fixed Asset lifecycles (capitalization, depreciation, disposals) or General Accounting flows (manage accruals & prepaid expenses, financial analysis, and reporting)
Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audits by providing clear documentation and explanations for transactions
Collaboration: Work closely with local business units and finance teams across Europe to gather data and facilitate smooth financial operations
Process Improvement: Contribute to the harmonization of processes and participate in special projects to increase SSC efficiency
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
Professional Certifications: Possession of (or progress toward) professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIA etc.) will be considered a significant plus
1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Accounting or related financial roles
Fluency in English (additional languages will be considered a plus)
Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA experience will be considered a strong asset)
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and/or Google sheets
Previous experience in an SSC environment would be considered an advantage
