Winterisation Operative

Pay Rate: £16 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shift : Days

Day Shift: 10:00am - 18:00

Shift Pattern : Wednesday -Sunday

Location: London Overground Network

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

AGS Recruitment are currently recruiting Winterisation Operatives to support railway sites throughout the winter period.

The role will involve helping to keep stations, platforms, walkways and other railway areas safe and accessible during cold and adverse weather conditions.

Winterisation Operative Duties

• Gritting and salting platforms, walkways, steps, ramps and station entrances.
• Clearing snow, ice, frost and other hazards from pedestrian areas.
• Ensuring access routes remain safe for passengers and railway staff.
• Checking and replenishing grit bins.
• Clearing leaves, standing water and debris that could create slip hazards.
• Carrying out basic winter safety inspections.
• Identifying and reporting hazards, defects or unsafe areas.
• Recording completed work and areas treated.
• Using winterisation equipment safely and correctly.
• Following all railway, site and health and safety procedures.

Winterisation Operative Requirements

• Reliable and able to work in outdoor winter conditions.
• Good awareness of health and safety.
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual duties.
• Flexible with working hours, including early mornings, nights and weekends where required.
• Previous railway, cleaning, facilities management or outdoor maintenance experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Full Manuel UK Drivers License
