Job Description

Burke Shire Council is seeking applications for the position of General Labourer / Operator. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, practical work, and contributing to projects that make a difference in the community.

About the role:

The primary purpose of this position is to support Councils Engineering Department, with a particular focus on assisting the Roads Construction and/or Maintenance team. In addition to this core responsibility, you may also be assigned various duties across the works engineering department supporting Councils roads, works and services and depot operations as organisational needs require.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in civil road works and/or general labouring

• Road construction or RMPC (Road Maintenance Performance Contract) experience preferred

• Current C class driver’s licence (essential)

• HC, MC or heavy machinery tickets (desirable)

This is a full-time permanent position, offering a negotiable starting salary based on your qualifications, experience, and ticket credentials. The pay rate shall be between $56,082 and $58,462 per annum (plus allowances) which is based between Level 2 and 5 of the Certified Agreement.
