GENERAL LABOURER, ELK LAKE, ON, CANADA

When you join our team as a General Labourer, reporting to the team leader, you will perform various production-related tasks. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

What You’ll Do

• various cleaning duties such as shoveling and sweeping in a variety of conditions
• Stack small pieces of wood; requires repetitive movements for extended periods
  
• wrap and strap lumber bundles; requires hand eye coordination
• Perform any other related duties as requested by your immediate supervisor

What You Offer

• Must be willing to take training on the different workstations.
• Thoroughness, initiative, sense of responsibility and independence.
  
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  
• Teamwork and organizational skills.
  
• Concern for health and safety and good execution and speed.

Additional Information

• shifts vary; two weeks days two weeks nights rotation; employees are placed where current needs are but can apply for alternate roles over time.
• Planer; Monday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
• Sawmill; Monday to Friday 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
• weekend clean up; Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Sat & Sun 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Benefits: The employer offers group insurance and RRSP as well as a pension plan with employer contribution.
  
• Hourly rate: $30.81
