General Labourer performs a variety of different tasks, such as completing a clean demolition, supporting the flood remediation team and the contents team, warehousing, and recycling. Remember, the most important question a laborer can ask is, “What’s next?”

Responsibilities

Warehouse Support:

  • Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring equipment and materials are properly stored and readily accessible.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks with restoration equipment and supplies, including dehumidifiers, air movers, and other tools.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies (forklift certification is an asset).
  • Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and recycling areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Assist with tracking and managing tools and supplies using our inventory and project management system (e.g., Restorify).
  • Sort and process recyclable materials generated on job sites.
  • Use equipment such as balers and compactors to safely manage recycling operations.
  • Ensure that recycling and disposal areas are clean and organized, complying with company and environmental standards.

Flood and Fire Remediation:

  • Assist the flood teams by setting up, monitoring, and dismantling drying equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, and other tools.
  • Help with water extraction, demolition, and debris removal, including the removal of damaged building materials (e.g., drywall, flooring, insulation).
  • Disinfect and clean affected areas to prevent mold growth, following instructions for using antimicrobial treatments and other cleaning agents.
  • Ensure site protection and containment measures are in place to prevent contamination of unaffected areas.

Contents Handling:

  • Assist in packing, moving, and restoring customers' contents from affected properties, ensuring proper documentation and inventory management.
  • Clean and restore personal items and furniture, following established restoration procedures.
  • Work with the project management and contents teams to document non-restorable (NR) items and seek approvals from project managers.

General Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining communication with co-workers, project managers, and clients.
  • Follow company health and safety protocols on all job sites, ensuring the safe handling of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and be available for after-hours emergency work, as required.
  • Complete daily timecards and project notes using the designated project management app.
  • Drive or ride in company vehicles (keep them clean and organized).
  • Fill out paperwork and forms for recycling and job tasks.
  • Use tools and machines like pallet jacks, forklifts, and balers (training provided).
  • Help load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment.
  • Use industry-leading apps and tools like Restorify and Eco-Claim to track work and recycling data.

Requirements

  • A valid BC driver’s license (Class 5 or N) with a clean driving record.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 140 lbs).
  • Comfortable driving or riding in a 5-ton truck.
  • Positive attitude and good attention to detail.
  • Enjoys driving and working in different locations.
  • Good at working alone or with a team.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, computers and apps, like Microsoft Office or Eco-Claim.
  • Experience with tools or restoration work is a bonus.
  • Follows safety rules and knows how to use PPE.
  • Participation in our on-call shift rotation.
  • Clear criminal record check (required when hired).

Compensation

  • Wage: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
