General Laborer, Refuse/Trash Collector, Urgently Hiring
We’re urgently hiring General Laborers / Trash Collectors to manually/mechanically collect waste and assist drivers on residential routes in St. Augustine, FL. This position requires prompt and courteous service to customers by safely loading waste into the vehicle, carrying bags and containers for disposal, and helping guide the Driver while maneuvering the vehicle.
Working with recyclables is not a glamorous job but it’s a necessary one that helps keep our community clean.

MORNING SHIFT AVAILABLE: 5:30am start time Monday through Friday, occasional mandatory Saturdays
As a full-time General Laborer / On-Route Helper, you’ll earn $15.00 per hour. Plus, as a General Laborer / Trash Collector at Leadpoint, you’ll enjoy perks that include:

Key responsibilities as an On-Route Helper:
- Assist the Driver on designated routes by riding along and providing support.
- Climb on and off vehicle to load refuse, waste and poly carts; lift and carry trash bags and containers to the truck for disposal.
- Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing residential customers on a designated route.
- Operate packing mechanism and various controls to activate lifting and loading equipment.
- Maintain professional interactions with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely, thorough and exceptional service delivery.
- Monitor waste for any unacceptable materials during collection.
- Uphold productivity standards to ensure efficient service delivery to all customers.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, as well as the residential route and work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Fulfill other duties and tasks as assigned.
Prior general labor or waste/recycling experience is a plus, but not required. We need reliable, detailed and safety-oriented on-route Trash Collectors who:
- Are at least 18 years of age or older
- Can lift up to 50 lbs
- Successful completion of a fitness test is a prerequisite for consideration in this role.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Adhere to work schedules, safety policies, and assigned tasks with a positive demeanor.

- Consent to a drug screen. This is a safety sensitive position for which impairment while working presents substantial risk of injury so the company will be testing for THC.
- Have reliable transportation to get to work. We also promote carpooling and ride sharing.
We also require work boots that meet ANSI specifications, ensuring sufficient ankle support with a minimum height of 6 inches and top lacing for enhanced stability.
