Sunland Asphalt & Construction is seeking General Laborers to support our asphalt paving projects in the Kykotsmovi, AZ area. General Laborers perform a variety of physical tasks, including general labor and the use of power and hand tools, as defined by each job or project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Work efficiently, productively, and safely to meet production goals established by the Foreman, Superintendent, and/or Production Manager.
• Follow the direction of the Foreman and/or Superintendent regarding the daily production schedule and job activities.
• Shovel, rake, and hand-spread asphalt, aggregate, sand, and other materials as applicable.
• Cut, break up, and remove damaged or deteriorated pavement; rake, load, and haul asphalt debris off the job site.
• Clean and prepare site surfaces prior to paving or coating.
• Dig, grade, and backfill trenches; assist with excavation, utility adjustments, and concrete work as directed.
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment from company trucks and trailers.
• Assist equipment operators and truck drivers by spotting and guiding vehicles while backing and maneuvering around the job site.
• Perform all other general laborer duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience is preferred.
• Ability to speak read and write English is preferred.
• Flagger certification is preferred.
