• Learns how to identify mechanical problems with the finish saw and develops working-
relationship with maintenance resources
• Understands where to find the product cut length as denoted for the process and what an
acceptable frequency of verification is i.e - Shift change, stoppages, new dies/orders, first cut
and last cut
• Understands where to find cut tolerance for each customer/order to assure cut length
adherence
• Learns proper saw blade coolant, oil levels, and correct fluids to cut product effectively
• Helps empty saw chip collector at the end of each shift or as needed; contacts fork-lift driver
when chips dumpsters are full
• Protects and handles material with care to prevent scratches, dents, and any damage that can
occur in transition
• Adheres to stacking procedures via plant systems such as Auto Die Viewer when available;
stacking layout and type of spacer
• Assures material has enough spacer bars and are aligned consistently to prevent denting and/or
as directed by the saw operator
• Maintains good foresight on next setup with good time management and assists with preparing
dollies, racks etc. to maintain flow
• Assures that all completed racks/free stacks have saw chips blown out efficiently from both ends
prior to age
Job Requirements:
• Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English
• Must have basic math skills, use a calculator and read a tape measure
• Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment
• Must read and understand all work and safety instructions relevant to their specific
position
• Must be able to use and maintain all basic tools and measuring equipment pertinent to
their specific position
Skills and abilities:
• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment specific to their position efficiently/safely
• Effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment
• Good organizational skills
