The Opportunity
As an experienced professional in General Environmental and Employee Health & Safety (EHS) at Hitachi, Ltd., you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs and initiatives across our operations. You will ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, foster a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and employee wellbeing.

How will you make an impact

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and management systems in alignment with Hitachi's global standards and local regulations.

  • Conduct regular EHS risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; determine root causes; and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Provide expert EHS guidance and support to management and employees on all environmental and occupational health and safety matters.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in EHS roles, preferably within a manufacturing or electric/energy industry.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001/).

  • Thorough knowledge of local, national, and international environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Proven ability to conduct EHS risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EHS management software, Power Apps, and Power BI.

  • Relevant EHS certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH, NFPA 70E) are highly desirable.
