Job Description

Due to business expansion, our client is hiring the newly created position of General Counsel to assist with their strategic growth in the Asia region. The role can be based in either Hong Kong or Shanghai and will report directly to the CEO. This key role will set up the legal function to:

• Support it with its listing and regulatory compliance initiatives in Hong Kong including prospectus drafting and handling regulatory enquiries and responses
• Provide the full breadth of general counsel support to management to enable its strategic growth in the region
• Manage the advice sought from third party service providers including external counsel
• Negotiate, review and draft commercial agreements and other third party contracts

To qualify:

• You should ideally be an experienced US qualified lawyer with 12+ PQE with additional Hong Kong or other common law jurisdiction qualification
• Technically sound and commercially savyy candidates with both NASDAQ and Hong Kong listing and corporate transactional experience is preferred
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential for this role. Prior in-house legal experience would be advantageous
